Southampton are in the advanced stages of negotiations to sign Nigerian forward Victor Udoh from Royal Antwerp. The Premier League side has reportedly agreed on a transfer deal with Antwerp, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 20 year old striker, represented by Emeka Obasi of Elite Project Group who also manages Southamptons Joe Aribo and Princewill Ehibhatiomhan could soon make the switch to England.

Udohs football journey began at TBC Football Club and Hypebuzz FC in Nigeria before his move to Antwerp in 2023. Since making his senior debut in January 2024 against Charleroi, he has logged 28 appearances for the Belgian side. However, Udoh was demoted to the reserves last December after failing to score in those senior outings. Despite his struggles with the first team, he impressed in the reserves, netting 12 goals in 27 matches for Antwerps Young Reds in the 1ste Nationale.

Southampton, looking to bolster their attacking options, hope Udoh can rediscover his form and fulfil his potential at St. Marys. With his connections to current and former Southampton players, including Joe Aribo and Roméo Lavia, the club believes he can quickly adapt to the English football scene and contribute to their forward line.

We believe that moving to the Premier League could be a game-changer for Udoh. While his recent struggles in Belgium may have raised eyebrows, sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what a young player needs to thrive. With Southamptons track record of nurturing young talents such as Roméo Lavia, Udoh could benefit from an environment that emphasises growth and opportunity.

The key to this transfers success will be how quickly Udoh adapts to the demands of the English game. Southamptons attacking style, coupled with the Premier Leagues fast pace, will test his technical skills and mental resilience. But if he can tap into the form he showed for Antwerps reserves, the Saints may have uncovered a future star at a bargain price.

In a league known for its physicality and high pressure, Udohs success will rely heavily on patience and proper guidance. If given the right opportunities and support, we believe he could emerge as a vital asset for Southampton in the coming seasons.
